CREATIVE SCOTLAND - CREATIVE PLACES AWARDS

The ''Creative Places Awards'' is a scheme that encourages cultural organisations, community groups, and/or local authorities to nominate their village, town or other community to bid for an award in recognition of its achievements in using its creative assets to promote the identity of the place.

The scheme is part of the Year of Creative Scotland 2012 and will shine a spotlight on the creative programmes in areas outwith Scotland''s main cities. It will run over the three years 2012-14 and there will be one deadline per year for submissions. This scheme is about recognising and celebrating the co-ordinated efforts of organisations within communities to promote the local identity, so they will only consider one application per place. Therefore, to avoid any duplication, they are advising applicants to notify their relevant local authority officer (who has responsibility for arts or Culture) of any potential applications.
