Description
The Scottish Refugee Policy Forum (SRPF) invites its members to take part in a conference to explore the issues affecting asylum seekers and refugees in Scotland. The SRPF is an umbrella organisation led by refugees which represents refugee community organisations and other refugee-led groups. They aim to assist asylum seekers and refugees identify a common purpose and develop an independent, representative and collective voice. By representing the needs of asylum seekers and refugees, the SRPF hopes to improve policy by encouraging positive changes.
In order to fully and accurately represent asylum seekers and refugees in Scotland the SRPF is giving its members the opportunity to express their opinions and make their voices heard. Attendees will therefore be able to directly influence SRPF policy proposals.
The conference will focus on:
- Where We Are Now - Current Situation for Asylum Seekers and Refugees
- Where We Need To Be - Changes that Policy Makers and Service Providers Must Make for the Future
Speakers will include (UKBA), (SRC), (RCO), (GCC) (NHS), (JCP) & others.
