I have spent most of my working life in Drumchapel and the West.
Born and brought up in Drumchapel and now living in Knightswood with my two boys I feel not only to have the opportunity to express community views but also my own as a local resident, where appropriate.
I am the Manager of Drumchapel Community Business and KCEDG Commercial Centre. Both organizations own and manage small business space in Drumchapel. We provide accommodation and support packages for the support and development of the business base in the West of Glasgow. Each organization is committed to working in partnership with others; at Dalsetter we work in partnership with the Thomas Fortune Centre and manage the Community Environmental Therapy Project. At KCEDG we work in partnership with the local Nursery and Drumchapel LIFE and have developed a very successful Children’s Garden Project. Both organizations are based and owned by the local community. Each of the Board of Directors is elected from the membership each year.
I am committed to developing and improving the voluntary sector who are vital to the continual success of Glasgow through the amount of projects we have who are involved in the local Economy, care of the Elderly, Youth Development and Support, After School Care and the list is endless. Without the Voluntary Sector the City would grind to a halt.
